CVRRVS

MM Interface Control Stage

Passive LR Implementation

CVRRVS is a passive MM/MI interface control stage based on a parallel LR impedance network.

It operates at the cartridge interface, defining controlled electrical interaction with the intrinsic inductive behaviour of MM cartridges.

Concept

In MM systems, performance is defined by the interaction between cartridge inductance and input conditions of the phono stage.

CVRRVS introduces a controlled impedance structure that shapes this interaction, stabilizing the electrical behaviour of the system.

The LR network does not compensate cartridge inductance directly, but defines a frequency-dependent load influencing system resonance.

Architecture

CVRRVS is a passive electrical network:

  • parallel LR impedance structure,
  • no transformer stage,
  • no signal gain or conversion.

It operates between cartridge and phono stage as an interface layer controlling signal conditions.

Specifications:

Type: MM/MI interface control
Configuration: passive LR network
Input: MM/MI cartridge
Output: phono stage input (RCA)

Load impedance: 50k Ohms

Frequency response: 5Hz to 100kHz (±0.5dB)

Signal Behaviour

CVRRVS provides:

  • controlled cartridge loading behaviour,
  • stabilization of resonance characteristics,
  • improved high-frequency consistency,
  • refined low-level signal structure.

The system defines how the cartridge interacts with the phono stage without altering its fundamental character.

System Role

CVRRVS is intended for systems where:

  • precise cartridge loading control is required,
  • resonance behaviour needs stabilization,
  • system interaction is prioritized over signal gain.

Position in MM Interface Systems

CVRRVS represents the impedance control stage within the MM interface architecture, focusing on time-constant and interaction behaviour.
